Maryvale State School is situated approximately 34kms from Warwick in the shadow of Cunningham’s Gap. Maryvale Station, home to one of the finest clydesdale horse stations in the country at the time, once stood near the site now occupied by the school. To honour this history the school has adopted the clydesdale on its badge and school shirts.

The school has seen many changes since opening its doors to 21 pupils on April 21st 1913. Once only a single small building, the school now encompasses two school buildings surrounded by large play areas. Children have access to a library, computer lab and a tuckshop.

The school currently caters for 32 children, both boys and girls, ranging across all year levels in a multi-age format. In 2009 we welcomed our first prep students. Our Teaching Principal is supported by a Teacher as well as two permanent part-time Teacher Aides, two casual Teacher Aides, an Administrative Assistant, a Supply Teacher, Behaviour Management Officer, Music Specialist, LOTE and Learning Support Teacher.

As well as the set curriculum, children are engaged in a range of extra activities including art, swimming, LOTE and ICT skills. Children are encouraged to participate in a variety of physical activities and during the winter months, the school takes part at the Tannymorel Sports and the Small Schools Sports Days.

Parents are encouraged to be actively involved and aware of their children’s progress and to regularly visit the school. Our P & C meets each month and all family and community members are encouraged to attend.
